jury duty

i got called for juty duty! ick!

i am wondering if i have to actually sit in on a trial, how i am gonna deal with having to go and empty my bag every three hours or so? and what would happen if i had a leak? i don't thinkthey would be overly happy about holding the trial up!!!

also, we have to drink alot, to keep from getting dehydrated, and eat more frequently.

If you have served in jury duty since your ostomy, how did you deal with it?

I just went thru this recently. Here is what I was instructed to do by the jury coordinator. Report as required. Go thru all of the questions, but let the coordinator know that you would like to speak to the judge personally regarding your medical situation. I had to explain my situation (exactly as you stated above) to the judge as well as the 2 attornies present. I was dismissed as soon as we had our little pow-wow!! I was sooooo happy. I had just worked myself into a real tizzy wondering what I would do --- all for nothing. And I had to drive over an hour each way. It was a federal case, not local.

that would have been my suggestion, and look u dont even need to bring a doc's note! ur lil' bag should speak for itself lol

lol, i hope i don't have to show it so they will believe me!
i kind of thought that once they heard the story they would let me out, seems like all that trouble would surely hold up a trial!

I did jury duty a few years ago. Don't worry, they give you plenty of breaks, others besides you will need to go to the loo, etc :)

I also have successfully participated in a jury trial, even was the foreperson! I never gave it a second thought. There are SO many recesses and breaks that it shouldn't hinder your ability to participate.

we all need to do our jury duty! those that skip make those of us who do answer the summons have to serve duty more often than is our fair share....you will be fine. there are many breaks, plus you might get on an interesting trial...
