Recommend a Good Adhesive.....I'm Having Leaks

I would like to ask a question regarding the HydroFrame® Hydrocolloid Flange Extensions, the member who suggested use of these was Ohio 43.

I want to know if you use this product and does it really work as well as it says on the website.  I have been experiencing leakage problems for the past month and I am at my wits end

Any feedback would be most appreciated.  I am really having a problem finding a good adhesive since Hollister stopped making their adhesive.

Have you tried the Eakin Seal?  It can be used with any flange and is amazing!!  It looks like a donut and can be modified to your needs.  I use it in its original form and it holds great.

I highly recommend Coloplast's Assura Extended Wear wafer. The adhesive on them is great and stays on me for a week, even after showering daily and swimming. I also use an Eakin seal underneath, which helps prevent leaks under the wafer.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I've been really busy at work. By the time I get home, I feel like I'm getting ready for the next day. It dissapoints me that I can't get on more often. We're blocked from tons of websites at work. : (

I love the HydroFrame® Hydrocolloid Flange Extensions. I use two of them just about each time I change my pouch and flange. I use them with Coloplast Sensura one piece and two piece. I was allergic to every type of tape out there and the ET nurses didn't know what I should do except go without tape and then I was worrying about the whole thing coming off because I was trying to get over a yeast infection and/or allergic dermatitis from the tape and it wouldn't stay on. So, one day I started researching what was out there and found them through a company called Welland Medical. I order from two different medical supply companies. Most of my stuff comes from Sterling Medical, but Edgepark (who is my other company) is the only one who can get them. Welland Medical is in the UK. My doctor was thrilled when I showed him them as an alternative to tape. They really do help with security. They are made from the same thing the flanges are made of. It's more like a wax. I change everthing on the fourth day. Believe me, with my extremely sensitive skin, these have worked wonderfuly.

No, you can't reuse Eakin Seals. They go under your wafer around your stoma to prevent leaks. So, when you take your wafer off, it is stuck to it.

Thank you for replying to my post.  I've ordered th hydro-frame flanges today, now I'm going to do some research on the Cohesive slims and the cavalon skin barriers.  I've been an Ostamate since 1996.  I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colotis in September of 1977 and I finally had emergency surgery in July of 1996. 

I can say, I haven't been sick a day since only the small obstacles with my appliance, I must say I am very happy not to be sick anymore

But any how, I'll repost when I receive and use my supplies.
