Hi everyone, in March of this year(2008) i had part of my colon and part of my intestines removed. i do not have an ostomie bag. the surgeon was able to redirect my colon. I am Blessed to be alive. my question is: when do you think a colonoscopy exam should be scheduled. i am having a debate with my pcp about
this. any suggestions? thanks

My surgeon wanted every two years and when I went through several without incident, my GI changed it to every three years. But, I ended up having it all removed because of other issues.

Siskey,
Welcome to Healing Well. I'm glad you're doing well after surgery.
I would think your gastroenterologist would be the one to decide how often you should be scoped. If you don't mind me asking, why did you need to have surgery?
