how long off work?

i'm hoping to have step 1 of j-pouch surgery soon. for those of you with "light jobs", how long did you have to take off work? i will be able to sit down as much as possible.

I was off work for 3 weeks but most people are off for 6 weeks. I don't think you can "plan" for the length of time, everyone is different. If you need to give your employer an estimate I would use 6 weeks but with the caveat that you might be back sooner.
