I might have to change my username.....

I'm going Lamborghini shopping with my son tomorrow. It's been a dream of mine to own a Lamborghini Diablo for quite some time now. Let me explain why I'm telling you this....

When I had my ostomy at age 28 back in '89 I really thought my professional life was over. I know many of you have had the same concerns as well. But, when I look back, I was far more successful after my surgery than before. It wasn't because of my ostomy, but in spite of it. After feeling sorry for myself for the first year or two(those of you that remember some of my posts might also remember that I attempted suicide shortly after my surgery), I picked myself up by my emotional bootstraps and never looked back. I also promised myself that I would NEVER allow me to define myself by this pouch attached to me. And, I never did. I even retired last year at age 47!

For those of you that have recently had an ostomy, I'm sure it seems bigger than life right now. Believe me, in time it will feel like just another normal part of you.

Well, it's probably going to be  a while until I find the right one. Lamborghini only made 200 Diablos a year, and the last year of production was 2002. But, any fellow ostomate that'll be in the Atlanta area will always have an open invitation to go for a spin!!!

So, what's your new name going to be... Ghini Guy?

i've been more successful too, even though i've only had mine for 1.5yrs.  i know it's cause of the ostomy, being pain-free rules.

good luck with the 'ghini, they are hard to find, at least up here.  i traded my vette in too, on a truck to tow my toys (sled, atv, etc) which i could actually use now that i have the bag lol

You traded in your Vette to buy a truck? That's blasphemy to us corvette lovers, Bro! Actually I'm not trading it in. My son graduates from college in December and I'm giving him one of the Vettes for a graduation present.....though he doesn't know it.
