So, I find out this morning that Tourism Queensland in Australia is offering a dream job to anyone who wants to live on Hamilton Island for 6 months. The pay is outrageous ~ $100K ~ and you get to live in a 3 bedroom beachfront villa. All you have to do to apply is submit a 60 second video of yourself.

I tell my husband that I think it would be fun to apply, and he says, "Is there a hospital there? What if you have a blockage!!" Gee, thanks, hun, but that's NOT exactly the answer I was looking for!! tongue Now, I have to find out if Hamilton Island has a hospital! Shaz, do you know?

well you know what i been thinkign about this, and what if you were a person with a colon and you broke your arm? or got bit by a snake? i mean anything could happen, colon or not!!! i think you should go for it i saw that earlier today, and actually thought about it myself, lol.

Good point, Summer! I did a Google search, and Hamilton Island does have a hospital, so now we can proceed to step 2 ---> making the video! cool

if you told people that you had an ileo and did that it would be such a great thing for people all over struggling with the decsion!
Plus i could be like, i know the person with the most awesomest (yes i know thats not a word) job in the world!

Yes, I'm gonna do it!! I'm going to shoot the video at the beach to show that I could handle the job of hanging out at the beach for 6 months! I've been preparing for this job my whole life!!!  turn

I'm here in Columbus, OH and heard about this dream job on the news last week. It sounds wonderful. Are you ok with setting and keeping up a daily blog about the island? That's what I heard the job consist of. I also heard on the news that there were over 90,000 resumes/video tapes collected for this job. You'll have to keep us posted. Unfortunately, some blockages are not caused directly by diet, as I have found out as well.  Sometimes, for no reason, you can get a kink in the intestine or adhesions that will actually cause the blockage or partial blockage.  Either way, they are painful.  Sometimes, food is Not the only culprit, but the body itself can be.   Some require surgery, some will resolve themselves.  Just depends upon the person and the severity of the blockage, and how willing you are to put up with the pain (if there is still some output from the stoma.)

If I get the job, my diet would consist mainly of liquids... pina coladas, strawberry dacquiris and rum runners!! (just kidding!) tongue

My hubby would come with me, and we'd have fun doing some daily blogging about all of the fun things to do on the island.
