Butterfly,
I'm so sorry to hear about your constipation problems again after having what seemed a successful surgery. I'm scheduled for my surgery on Wednesday and I'm very nervous. I asked my doctor about this very thing last week when I had my pre-op and he said usually it's young women in their 20's and 30's who end up having additional problems. Just curious....are you in your 20's or 30's? He said when a person gets so bad that young, there are sometimes other things going on. I'm 53, and although I've relied on laxatives for almost 30 years to go, it's only been the last couple years that I've had to take more and more and have had less success with them. If he's right, then this will be one time I'm glad to be old!
I'm starting my prep at 9:00 am, and I'm dreading tomorrow more than the actual surgery. The golytely makes me so sick, and usually I don't start going to the bathroom at all until I have taken all of it, so I'm so full of that horrible liquid that I throw it up! I also have 2 dulcolax and several antibiotics, as well as potassium pills to take after drinking the golytely. Is that what everyone else has done? The nurse called me Friday to tell me that the pills will make me naseous, but if I throw up, to wait 30 minutes and then take the rest.
Has anyone heard from Karen? I'm getting worried; her surgery was a week ago, and I thought we'd hear something by now. I promise to write as soon as I possibly can; I know how I always look forward to hearing how everyone is doing.
Good luck everyone; Lizzie, your appointment is getting closer, although I know it's not soon enough. Amanda, hope you're feeling better. Hodaya, how's your mother? I'm sure you're so worried about her, and stress isn't good for you at all. Let us know how she's doing.
Judy, Hope you're feeling better now too. Seems like you fix one thing, and another breaks!!
