This weekend I went up to Grand Targhee Ski Resort with a group of friends. It was the first time since my surgery that I was completely myself, uninhibited by the bag, and didn't even think about
it other than to empty after lunch. I think the reason for forgetting was due to the fact that I was covered in multiple layers of snow pants/coat and so was everybody else. I didn't have to constantly check to make sure my shirt was covering or that a bulge wasn't evolving. Yahoo for winter sports!
What else are you doing that you thought you wouldn't be able to do prior to having your colon removed?
By the way, I hadn't skiied in over 6 years due to the fact that the only bathrooms were down in the lodge....in the basement.

In the summer, I love going to waterparks and don't care that the bathrooms are very far away!

I went hot air ballooning the summer after my surgery. When the closest bathroom is 1000 feet straight down, it's something I NEVER would have done prior to the surgery. I also flew in an airplane glider that same summer. There's no bathroom in one of those either.
