bubbled bag

Have any of you ever had your bag bubble?? The last 3 bags (from 2 different boxes!!!) have bubbled. Somehow bubbles are forming between the layers of the plastic. It is so frustrating!!! I can't figure for the life of me why this is happening. I certainly do not feel confident the bag is gonna hold b/c I feel the bubbles are compromising it. GGRRRR!

Oh--no I have done nothing different--no diet changes, med changes, I haven't changed where/how I store my supplies, etc. I've used these same bags for 3 years now and have never had this happen. I'm just so steamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm calling the company on Monday. I tried today but of course they're not open.

I have had the same problem too. I use hollister and it happens down at the tail. They are small and kind of like bubble wrap. Of course being the person I am I have popped them and believe it or not they didn't leak. I know I probably shouldn't have done that but I just can't leave my hands off of anything, LOL.

I did a little research and it seems that most major companies use a process of "stacking" multiple layers of thin plastic to achieve a stronger, thin plastic bag. The bubbles in my situation seem to occur somewhere between two of these layers. The only thing I can associate this phenomenon with is me using peroxide as a deodorizer. When I tried M-9 I had no bubbles, now that I am back to peroxide, the bubbles are back, not every time but I do get them. There may be other sources for the bubbling but for my case it seems to revolve around the peroxide. Not sure if any of this will help but at least you can see you are not alone.

yea i posted about this a while ago, and i pop them too! lol sometimes the bubbles are really big but i dont pop those until im home and know im about to change, just to see if theyd leak if i did. but they havent yet. i dont know what it is tho. i dont use a hairdryer and sometimes i get them when i dont even use peroxide

Because our current insurance doesn't cover ostomy supplies, I clean and reuse the pouches for a few changings. I know it sounds gross, but hell....those things are expensive! I notice that eventually the plastic brakes down(bubbles) and it's time to throw the pouch out.

I don't think its gross to reuse bags, I do all the time, and I too have had those bubbles and I pop them too, and haven't had problems with the bag.

So, I finally called the manufacturer.........

They asked all sorts of questions: bubble size, what day of usage did the bubbles occur, how big were the bubbles, did I use any additives (deodorizer or whatnot) in the pouch, what color my stool is....I was surprised by that question!! Anyway, they are now sending me replacement boxes and I was instructed to Not use the remaining pouches. It was all pretty painless and I'm glad I did. Oh--and of course, I was advised not to use peroxide in my pouch and they have this wonderful deodorizer (m9 drops) and would I like a sample...? Obviously, they are a little clueless how expensive it is to use their M9 drops. Oh well. It was worth it just to get some replacement bags. However, I fear if it happens again they will think I'm just trying to get free stuff out of them.

Sidenote--I did get enough nerve to pop the bubbles. I just couldn't stand it!! I didn't do the ones that were right next to the seam---too chicken.
