I'm going to steal your idea regarding the plastic wrap too...once I get my hands on some of those seals!!! 

Oh...I'm trying the SenSura (is that it?) and I like it a lot!  I'm just so nervous about my wafer leaking...my skin seems sore...so maybe I'm having a sensitivity to the paste or adhesive.

Anyway, I'm glad you found something that works!  You should patent a design with a little plastic baggy for that special shower ring.  You'd be rich!!!

I'm going to come up with designer bags...and once that's patented we can be rich together!!!

Chassity...have you looked at Stoma Caps? They are basically the same thing you created...here's a link to just one kind that's out there:

you could use the sure seal on the wafer and just use one of these for the shower and put on your regular pouch when done.

Something else someone on these forums had suggested, use the plastic wrap called Press and Seal over top of the wafer and bag--just fold up the bag and tucking it and put the press and seal right to my skin--a little pink tape on the top for more assurance, and it works pretty well, sometimes a few small wet spots, most of the time, I'm pretty dry out of the shower---no wet bag or wafer.  Take it off and you're good to go.  I've looked for the stoma caps, but I can't seem to find one that would work with my wafers--or maybe I don't know what I'm looking for?  I haven't tried the sure seal rings, I'll order some next time.

I like the idea of 'pouches' too...I guess I just used the term 'bag' because I also communicate with j-pouchers and they use 'pouch' in regards to their j-pouch.  : )  So, I think I'll convert to the 'pouch' talk as well regarding my ostomy.  However, I actually call it my 'accessory'.  : )

I'm going to focus on some cute designs with tans, golds, ivorys, and possibly some browns.  I'll do both male and female designs.  My brother can do tattoo designs, so I may hit him and his friend up for some rad images.  They would be so easy to cut and stencil onto the pouches and what I want to do is add some shimmer.  : )  As much as I am against super bling, I do love a nice sheen and shimmer to my appearance.  So, why not have a private shimmer affect?!  : ) 

Anyway...I am super serious about the designer pouch idea.  I'm going to chat with my dad's cousin who's an attorney about the patent legal side of this before I start sending my ideas into the companies.  I am so excited!!!  : )  I guess a darker color wouldn't be bad to use toward the bottom of the bags.  We could even have black and dark brown!!!  Hmmm....I need to get out my sketch pad and start designing!  Who knew my minor is art would be used in ostomy design!  If you told me then what I would be doing now I NEVER WOULD BELIEVE YOU!!!  Hhahhhahahahaahhhaaa!!!!  : )

 

Yeah, I'm surprised they don't already have designs for adults. Oh well...leave it to me...I'll work something out! : )

I'll post something later once I get some things sketched up and I'll ask for prefences from you guys so I can make sure you're needs are met. : )

And if anything else I'll just have people send me their bags and I'll decorate them myself for a decent price. : ) I love doing the artwork by hand, and if I have stencils made up them it should take nothing at all. Also, if we do it that way I can personalize the pouches. With initials...special pictures...colors, etc. Maybe I should do that instead...and leave the companies out of it. What do you think?
