How long does surgery for an ileostomy last?

How long does surgery for an ileostomy last? This is my husband's biggest question, as it scared him when I had my colectomy. I was out a long time.

i think mine lasted like 4 hours or something. Honestlly i am not sure. It depends on the surgeon, and how they do the surgery too. They should be able to give you a pretty good time frame tomorrow!

Ask your surgeon. I had a temp ileo and ajpouch created in under 2 hours by a very experienced surgeon. The more experienced the surgeon and the more cooperative the physiology, the quicker the surgery.

It does depend on the surgeon, mine was a loop ileo i nhopes a a possible reversal (not going to happen) or kpouch so mine was done in just about 2 hrs vs the five for the TC.
