My bag filled rather fast all of a sudden (end of my descending colon colostomy - i still have much of my colon - just lost the last 18 inch), before that I had what I *thought* was some really bad gas cramps which I sometimes get depending on what I eat.
I'm wondering if it's a diet thing, dairy maybe? My stoma looks kind of flat where it usually is a bit puffy... is there a reason for that? I change my wafer this mroning so at first I thought "Maybe I ahve too much paste around the stoma" so I change it, that's when I discovered it was pretty loose stool... and sort of lumpy.
I've eaten steamed carrots the past 2 days and had cheerios with 1% milk and cottage cheese.. could it be the veggies and the dairy?
I'm just afraid something isn't right with my stoma now... It's bleeding around the edges, but I imagine with diarhea and changing the wafer twice today, that's not hrorible as I know it can bleed easily.
Any thoughts? I had to take 2 tylenol because it has just been too much to bear... I'm hoping the tylenol does it. Does this sound like a blockage? I was in a bit of pain, but really thought it was gas... Oh, and you know how the stoma sputters? Well, mine sputtered (before I changed it) like a high-pitched, like the stoma was tight and trying to squeeze it out.
Now, I'm fine though.. no more pain (just took tylenol MAYBE 10min ago), and I have a little gas, but nothing major, but I haven't heard my stoma since.
Anything I should look for? Thanks, I'm a bit nervous if you can't tell...
