J pouch surgery in 12 hours...

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to let you all know that I am having my j pouch surgery in the morning.  Starting to get butterflies, but hard to tell because of all of the discomfort from my bowel prep, but trying to stay positive.  I won't be on the site for a good 5-6 days- if all goes well and there are no complications!  I just wanted to say thank you to all for all of your support and suggestions over the past few months.  I am sure that I will be posting soon after surgery for advice on my stoma, ostomy, etc.  I have jotted down some good notes in regard to M9 drops and what not!

Good luck with your surgery and I wish you a healthy and speedy recovery. Please keep us updated on the UC forum as to how you are doing!!!

Dont forget to take some gas-x with you to the hospital! And if noone told you, the stuff that comes out at first is going to be the nastiest stuff you ever saw, lol. But dont worry once you eat it wont be like that!

We will be thinking of you Nutz. It will truly be such a relief to wake up and have that diseased colon gone! It is amazing how soon you will feel better. My only advice is when they say you can have some food take it REALLY slowly even though you are really hungry and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW. And even though it is hard WALK, WALK, WALK.

hi everyone, it's me Darlene (Nutz).  i am going to start a new post to let you know how surgery went.  it will be titled 1 week post j pouch to let more people know what to expect.
