It's a video about ostomies put out by the UOAA (United Ostomates Assoc of America). It's esp important to me cos it includes several friends of mine - Lee Ann Barcus (the lady who is featured doing karate - one day we WILL get to meet up :) ) is a long time friend of mine, I also know Aileen Gould, Jason Cesari, Linda and Ken Auckett (pres of the UOAA), Kristen Knipp and Brenda Elsagher - Brenda is a comedienne and fabulous author and has sent me a copy of her book "If the Battle is Over, Why Am I Still In Uniform?'. She subsequently published a book "I'd Like to Buy A Bowel Please". All of them appear in the video.

The UOAA is trying to get the word out about ostomies. I totally applaud them.

Nice cheery film. Good for those people. I Hope I get there someday.

I'm still in struggle mode. Bitter and grumpy. Went to the ET nurse yesterday she looked young. She was very nice and tried to help me. She put some stuff on a stick and tried to burn on one of the huge bumps. Yeow!!!! I didn't cry but felt like it. I winced while she was rubbing the stuff on the bump and she asked me if it hurt. Wish I could have come up with funny answer, I was speechless at such a dumb question. Miss the book says, put on new flange and bag. It started leaking this afternoon. I haven't worked out or sweated. Did grocery shop. Could that have done it? Try to keep my mind happy with blessings.

Brenda the comedienne was funny. Where can you buy her books?

As a volunteer at my hospital for patients having had ostomies, I am always referring them to the UOAA website, but will now send them to this page:) Thanks!

That was GREAT! Thanks for sharing that with us Shaz! I'm so proud of those people. And it makes me feel proud of how far i've come too.
