Hi all, I have been feeling great for the past 2-3 weeks. I am now 9 weeks post j pouch surgery. I went out this weekend and decided to treat myself to fried buffalo wings (spicy) and chicken nachos. I know this wasn't the wisest food choice but I felt good and wanted to eat it!!! So, I felt fine after eating it and decided to eat flamin' hot chips today. There was no pain but I haven't really had much spice in my food for a couple months now. So, all day today, I have been emptying my bag which has been full of this reddish/orangish output. I remember how red gatorade turned my stool a similar color but this has been going on all day long! Is it because of the spice or the fried foods??? I am starting to get concerned as I have been emptying this type of output all day. Does anyone know what else this could be? Should I see my doc?

It might be the BBQ sauce on the wings, and im not sure what kind of spices are on the chips, but some of them could probably turn the output some. It doesnt take much red at all to change the color.

When I eat orange Doritos the same thing happens. But if you had wings and then the next day more it's bound to last longer orange.

You are what you eat :) You eat orangey reddy coloured food and you will poop orangey reddy coloured poop! I wouldn't worry about
it unless it lasts 3 - 4 days or more.

Thanks so much guys! Back to boring brown today...lol. It was worrisome because it lasted all day! I didn't eat anything too "colorful" today because I have to have a scope in the office on Wednesday to see when I can schedule my reversal! I just don't want to alter my results... Wish me luck on Wednesday! If all goes well, I will be scheduling the first week in January:)

Nutz,
Boring Brown is a beautiful color when you think something is wrong huh? I ate some of those Cheetos that are puffy and round and they turned black in my mouth and in my poop. I threw them away because it upset me because all I thought about
was black tarry stools = blood in the poo.
A funny one on the brown poop color - our 5 year old granddaughter spent the night with us on Saturday night. She and I were drawing and coloring and I got to pick 10 colors out of the box and so did she. The only one that we couldn't use was a sort of deep dull brown. When I asked her why I couldn't use it because I wanted to draw a tree, she said "because that's the color my poop usually is and I don't like it". I was tickled and she gave me a brown in a different hue.

Nutz...glad to hear that things are going so well. It seems like yesterday that you had your surgery. Good luck tomorrow.
