Stressed out about the total coeloctomy

Your body's physiology and your surgeon's training will dictate your incision. You can line 10 of us up and we all have different scars. Your surgeon might be able to give you an approximate idea of where he will cut but until he gets in there your incision might be longer then estimated.

If you're not having it done laproscopically, the incision will most likely be vertical from pubic bone to the belly button area.

When it comes to vanity, my scar healed so that I'm able to wear a bathing suit that's a bikini top with a skirt that shows my stomach, and it doesn't show.

When it comes to pain, they'll give you excellent pain meds by IV in the hospital to keep you comfortable. When you get home, you'll be able to take pain pills until the pain goes away.

I think watching a video of what they're going to do would make my anxiety worse...

When is your surgery? If your anxiety is really bad, you could always ask your surgeon for some Xanax to help keep you calm until surgery.

Thank you Cellia, and OHIO76, Just talked to the nurse at the doc's and she explained everything. I was really amazed when he says it takes 2 surgeon's to operate...but I am calmer today. My daughter took me out for dinner and some gambeling at the casino last night. So I ate a tiney bit and lost a boat load of money, and had a great nights sleep. So all is well with me in the world today, tomorrow the fun pain begins.... How long did you guys get to have your pain pump while you were in the hospital?
I have had trouble in the past with surgeies that they could not get my pain under control, but that was when I was on heavy pain meds for years then. But now I only take one vicodin a day..so should be better pain management this time and he ususes Fentnal in the pump and not the crappy morphine which never helped me...So thanks again to everyone...Leslie
