I went in on Tuesday and was out under and the doctor again thoroughly checked for the fistula and tested the pouch. Everything looked good. He could not find the fistula and there were no leaks. We are going to go ahead with the reversal on April 6th. We were going to do it on Tuesday originally but he has to go out of town this weekend and decided he did not feel comfortable leaving me with his partners. He trusts them but wants to be close by for a while after my surgery because of all the problems I've had. He's a wonderful surgeon--so caring. he calls me at night after hours to check up on me at least once a week. You don't often find a doctor who calls on his own time.
Fistulas, from what I've read, don't often heal on their own but mine seems to have. I've had so many odd problems so I figure it was about
time I'm the exception in a good way :)

Sounds like a great doctor. Best of luck with the reversal. My son just had his a few weeks ago and is doing GREAT!

Thanks! All the nurses always tell me that if they needed a surgeon like that, they would go to him. He treats them and his patients with respect--plus, he's a skilled surgeon

I was just in the hospital for 2 days due to kidney failure again. Even with being on fluids and TPN everyday and drinking quarts a day, I am still dehydrated most of the time and my health declines really quickly. This ostomy is really causing me a lot of problems, so I can't wait for it to come out.
