It has been exactly 2 years since my total colectomy, which was on 8-8-08. Unfortunately, I am a lot worse. I have lost more weight since my surgery and have stomach pains, diarrhea, nausea, and muscle aches and pains. It has gotten worse over the past year. Even though it was for slow transit constipation, now we are thinking that I may have Crohn's Disease. The only reason I had slow transit was because of food intolerance, numerous of them. Now, even though I have done every medication, powder, liquid, and every anti-diarrhea medicine, both prescription and over the counter, nothing works. Now, for the past month I am unable to eat a real meal. My eating has gotten worse over the past year. After my surgery, I went from eating regularly after finding my intolerance, to now eating liquids or jello. If I do eat, I eat very little throughout the day. The sad thing is that I can be very hungry, but my stomach would ache and I would get diarrhea or feel nauseous, but want to eat anyway. I eat high caloric liquids, allergen free ice cream and pudding, Jello, and I even eat high caloric drinks and stuff. I do not exercise and I am not as active as I used to be. I do take a walk outside my apartment for 20 minutes a day, but get tired out easily. The G.I. doctor I had refused to believe that I had Crohn's because I had a history of slow transit, even though it was caused by food intolerance. Now, I am going to Boston to see a G.I. and I am hoping to ask him to test it. Well, I hope all is well for the rest of you. i wish you all luck with everything. Thank you all again for all of your support.
