Well i managed to keep my son out of the ER for five years!!! I was pretty proud of myself. But thursday, he woke up complaining that his leg hurt, and i said, its probably just a pain, you probably slept funny or something. And he went off with my Dad and it apparetnly bothered him more throughtout the day. Well at like 4pm i went to my grandmas to see how he was and i went to check his leg and tried to straighten it and he SCREAMED and just laid there and cried. And for all his faults, my kid is not whiny, and he doesnt cry much. I literally have seen him fall down a flight of stairs, get up, grin and run off. And i'm not an overreactive mom, my thing is, if theres not blood or bone, its alright!
so when he is crying, he is really hurt bad. So i gave him some tylenol. Then decided i should try to take him to the dr.
So i tried to get him to a dr nearby but it was too late in the day. My husband runs an ER but it's an hour away, but that was our only choice, so i ran home got some stuff, and my Dad said he was drive us. By the time i got back to my granmdas (she is like 4 minutes away, my parents are literally next door) the tylenol had kicked in and he was calmed down, but it was still bothering him. So we went on to the ER, he got an x-ray and the dr checked him out and they couldnt find a single thing wrong with him. DH had been worried that the cat scratch he had on his toes had gone septic since he hadnt fallen or anything. But no sign of that either.
So, i felt stupid taking him, lol. We got him home, then about 10 he woke up screaming with it again, couldn't bend it. Gave him some more tylenol and about 20 minutes later he calmed down. He still limped around and complained about it the next day, but seems to be fine today.
I'm suprised we made it five years without having to take him, the way he carries on!
I sure hope he doesnt end up with as many trips to the ER as i have had though!
