Does anybody use Marlen wafers and pouches?

I have some samples from Marlen that look pretty nice. It is their Gemini 2 piece system. Has anyone tried this?

I think I am going to try it out on the next change. It uses an adhesive to stick the flange and pouch together and it feels like it will be much more flexible than a mechanical flange. The pouch looks nice too. It has Velcro at the bottom, much like Coloplast. It has a peek-a-boo feature where you can pull back the cloth and see your stoma. Nice.

If it just won't itch - that will be what really counts...

Hmm I have never heard of that product at all. But then I have only had my ileostomy for about 18 months now so I still have a bit to learn

I just ordered a sample of their gemini 2 piece and ultralite 1 piece system today! I recently asked how to get samples and saw their website on the uoaa supply page so I since I know nothing about anything I'm going to try everything lol. (I don't even know the difference between a 1 piece and 2 piece system) I liked the peek-a-boo thing too, nice to be able to hide the stoma, especially since mine is almost in the middle of my stomach. Let me know what you think of them.

I found their pouches too noisy but maybe that model is better...let us know!

Okay, the Marlen pouches are a mixed bag. (Pun intended.)

The Gemini 2-piece did not work very well for me. I could not get the bag to stick properly to the wafer. This may have been my fault - I was not very good at getting them lined up.

The one piece UltraMax is great - I really love it. I tried the slightly convex model with only paste (no Eakin seal) and managed to wear it for 6 days. That is a very long time for me. My skin was in the best shape I have seen it in a long time. And I did not itch. It has been difficult for me to find anything that did not itch. It is also flexible and very comfortable. I wish the outlet was a little wider, but that is not a big deal. Recommended.

So, I am going to wear the Marlen UltraMax for a while. I ordered 10 of them.

Good to know...I have super sensitive skin so I get a rash from just about any wafer. It is miserable. I love that there is another option out there.
