I'm 13 weeks.
I feel good now, but last week was hard. I kept throwing up so much, I could barely keep anything down and I started losing weight. Not good. I saw my OB and she put me on Zofran, which has been very helpful. She told me I'd have to go to the hospital if it didn't, but I'm doing better now. I still haven't recovered the weight I lost, but i'm sure it won't be long. Now, I'm having diarrhea. I don't know why. I'm drinking as much as i can, and it's still coming out.
I went to the perinatologist office for a consult on Mon, and the Dr. said they would want to monitor the baby through the pregnancy.
When I first got there, he old me they wouldn't do an ultrasound today, which I was fine with. He told me that they see lots of women with ostomies and their pregnancies usually go very well, without complications. I was glad to hear that again. He told me to bump up my fiber, for the diarrhea, which i'm doing. Then at the end of the visit, he did an ultrasound. LOL. The baby looked good! He said he wouldn't want to see me again for 8 weeks, when I'm 20 weeks, so we can find out the sex of the baby, and then do biophysical profiles frequently until the end of the pregnancy.
I was hoping to know whether it's a boy or girl by Christmas, but since I have to wait longer, I decided to try that intelligender test that tests your urine for hormones and can tell the baby's sex. It's 80% accurate, and I watched a couple of news stories about it. 4 out of 5 women tested had correct results. I took it this a.m. and it said boy! It gives me a hint (even though I already felt that it was a boy), but it'll be interesting to see if it's right.
So, all's well.
