My hu bby had his Enterocutaneous fistula repaired on 11th and it went well. They took the tube out of his nose too soon that he got nauseated but he is doing better today after they put the tube back in his nose. He had significant amount of bile came through the tube last night and today. I am on FMLA but cannot take any more time off because I got to pay the bills. He gets disability benefits and it isn't sufficient. It will be nice if the government change their law so when people with FMLA take time off, they get paid something. Oh! I forgot to mention that my hubby had a bowel movement for the first time in 1 year 7 months!! We are both very excited about it (like anybody wanted to hear this ... sorry). Take care everyone!

     Glad your husband is feeling better.  That NG tube is nasty.  I had my surgery on June 28th.  They left the tube in a day or so, but the resident surgeon told me I could eat, against my better judgment and that of my surgeon, and I ate too much four days past surgery...and wow did I ever vomit!  The NG tube went back down and brought up two big viles of bile...ugh.  But it did make me feel much better.

     That stinks that you aren't getting paid but good thing you could take time off.  My husband retired ten years ago.  I only worked part time but quit in 95 to take care of my ailing parents.  I had the surgery at age 63.  Total colectomy with perm. ileo.  Oh well, better than suffering with that ulcerative proctitis and all those meds for twelve years.

     Good luck and I hope your husband is on his road to a fast recovery.

Thank you both, Christine1946 & crohnielass for your comments. My hubby is doing well. He was transferred to a physical therapy rehab. unit last night for an inpatient rehab program. They will be working with him 1.5 hours for morning & evening. He will get a Ton of theraphy! He really needs it as he is learning to use his right leg again. He still has no feeling in his right leg from knee down but God is faithful. I dont know you both personally but it's nice to know that someone cares. You two have a good Thanksgiving.
