For the last 4 years, I've had really good results with the Coloplast Assura Extended Wear Wafer #2833 with cloth covered pouch #13986. It's a 2 piece system, and the pouch has a velcro closure.
The wafer stays on for a week, so I'll snap on a fresh pouch halfway through the week. All I use is some Stomahesive paste around the hole in the wafer and put it on clean, dry skin. The wafer has a built-in skin barrier, so my skin stays nice underneath.
I have spent the day swimming at a waterpark and still get 7 days wear time with these wafers. For me, they have been great! Coloplast Assura Extended Wear also comes in a convex wafer, if your stoma needs a little lift.
I remove it with a Smith & Nephew adhesive Remove wipe and clean the skin in the shower with Dove soap for sensitive skin. Sometimes I'll put a little bit of Calmoseptine Ointment on the skin right around the stoma to protect it from getting any output on it.
It's worth giving it a try to see if it works for you, too! If you go on the Coloplast.com website, you can call them and ask for free samples.
