chest

I woke up with a sharp chest pain. Its fine when i lay back and breath normally but when i sit up, get out of a chair, slouch over, or anything to strain or use the chest i get a sharp pain. It feels sorta like a knife stabbing me in the middle(closer to the left side). I can feel the pain extremley when i try to lay back. When I take deep breaths and breath out i feel the pain or just sitting there uncomfortably, also when i am driving and stir i feel the SHARP pain. I have felt this pain before about 4 years ago when i was lifting weights..the one that you have your fore arms apart and pull the back together facing each other,but it lasted for a min or so. Also I have felt this sharp pain when i am driving and backing up and place my right arm on to the chair and my left i twist to look behind me, but that also has only lasted for a minute or so. This time it has lasted all day and certain things i do will hurt so bad its close to making me cry what is wronggg???

Have you been coughing a lot? You may have pulled a muscle or cracked a rib (like I did after a bout of bronchitis by doing nothing more than coughing quite a bit). Best to go to the doc and have it diagnosed. There's not a lot they can do though except give you strong pain killers. It just has to heal on it's own.

Heat packs on the area tend to ease it a bit to help you sleep. I was finding even turning over in bed was agony!

Hello, please pay attention it could be your kidneys.  My sister just had those symptoms and she had a huge kidney infection, so if let go it can get ugly.  Hope you feel better, and keep a close eye on yourself..
