Hi all,I used to use the Ulcerative Colitis board, but following a sub total colectomy two weeks ago, will be here now.I only just came out of hospital following my op,due to complications.I had what's called an Ileus, where the small bowel goes to sleep following the trauma of surgery. It's been a rough ride of blood transfusions, copious amounts of iv saline, numerous drugs, and a lot of pain and sickness. In hospital I spent several days vomiting pints of green stomach bile and was nil by mouth for an entire week!
So now I'm out,but the pain goes on.I have raging stomach acid, that's cutting through me like a knife.Omeprazole and Ranitidine aren't helping and eating is excruciatingly painful.I'm told this should settle, but it sure doesn't feel like it.If anyone else has experienced this and can recommend a way to get some relief,I'd be eternally grateful.
