it's normal to have mucous and a little blood discharge from the rectum. the rectum is still alive and it produces mucous. the thing with blood is that when a part of the body, in this case the rectum, is not being used for a period of time, it goes through a process of atrophy, which means the rectum's mucosa gets weak and thus bleeds easily. but if the mucous and blood gets too much, better ask the surgeon for a scope just to make sure it's not proctitis or anything. keep us posted.
