Hi Everyone,

I can't imagine life without this ostomy now ... I'm finally healthy ... and happier cuz of you guys and gals :)

Any suggestions for a way to conceal the pouch from showing up under a t-shirt? I find that eventhough the pouch and appliance is pretty slim, the outline showup under a t-shirt especially. I miss wearing t-shirts :(

I've tried the Nu-Hope carefix wrap ... no good. Phoenix ostomy belt ... not a fan. Stealth belth ... a bit bulky and not a good idea for the Coloplast click appliances. Ostomy Secrets .. I find the wraps cause the output to build up around the stoma area causing leaks. A belly band from Target ... this was the closest to a solution I could find ... but still not good enough. I've tried almost all of them and spent a load of money!!

Finally, I find that when I have to wear a tucked in shirt and pants I'm usually very uncomfy because I tuck the pouch into my pants, put on my belt. Then the top of the pouch kinda falls over on my shirt and it's pretty obvious that something is there. Hard to explain .. hope you guys do ...

Anything anyone here can suggest would be helpful .. thanks.

are you talking about how the top flops over your pants and shows? if that's it, just tape the top of the bag to your stomach, it won't flop over and it makes me feel more secure that it won't get caught on something and fall off!
i haven't had any problem with tshirts, the only thing i have had a problem with is certain skirts and dresses that are a kind of clingy material, but i don't really need to be wearing that kind of stuff anyway, lol.

yes! I think the people on here that have had the pouch for awhile must work magic because I am having a heck of a time hiding it too! I keep reading how it's not a problem for most but I dont get it! I tuck mine in underwear and wear a large t shirt and it shows; I also am afraid to wear jeans because it just cuts the pouch in half and well we all know what happens when the stool doesn't drop down. I was going to try a belly band but was afraid it would squish the pouch... maybe I'm too paranoid about it???

I know what you mean, I've only had mine since April and still having got to grips with hiding the bag confidently with alot of things I wear. I hate it when the top of the bag flops forward without you noticing and it makes your top stick out. I also hate the fact that when it begins filling up it leaves an obvious bulge alot of the time and the only way to solve that is by emptying, when it really doesn't need emptying yet!

tryingtokeepmyheadup - you mentioned about jeans...I know what you mean, I have bought high waisted jeans which work a treat. If I'm not wearing high waisted trousers then I will try to make sure that what I'm wearing are a soft material...like cargo trousers.

It was easy to make and just took a few minutes. I bought some t-shirt material that stretches and sewed to shape. You could use a woman's tube top also which is where I got the idea.

I'm impressed, thats good!

We aren't magic we have just made lots of mistakes to learn from!
It took m months to figure out taping my bag to my stomach! That solved almost all my clothesproblem but mainly the flopping over problem which was the worst for me.
I think one important thing is good underwear the right kind t hold your bag against you, if it isn't tight enough the bag will flop all around.
If you put these gel tab in your bag then it helps the output spread out better, an unless your jans are like crazy tight then the poo won't get stuck at the top gravity will fx it!
But realy taping your bag down will solve 95% of the problems

Summer ... I tried taping my bag down last night and it lasted for a whole 10 minutes :)
Am I taping it wrong? :) What type of tape are you referring to?

The belly band is similar to what Ron has ... that does work the best I agree.

I have some ideas .. maybe I can try them and then come back here to show you guys and gals if it works ...

My stoma is about 2-3 inches below my waist band so as long as I keep to waist height trousers and skirts and avoid hipster ones then I can keep it hidden. Then again my hipster days are long gone :)

ucfree, I certainly don't mind this question!   I'm hoping to remember a lot of these tips for when I actually get my ileostomy next month.   cool

I was getting ready to go to bed!! The tape worked it's way loose.
I am going to the medical supply store today, I have an idea which may work. Building a prototype to try and if it does then I will share it with everyone here if you're interested
