bit confused

I know what you mean blueglass. I was 20 yo when I had mine done and if you had told me that I would be desparate to have a poop bag done for my 21st birthday I would have said you were mad.

I can't describe what having the ileo has meant for me, even when CD has flared up it still isn't anywhere near as bad as it was pre ileo. For a start even in flare I don't get the pain.

For each it is a personal decision and one that you have to feel comfortable with. For me, I've never regretted it and even if they develop a cure tomorrow that allows CD and UC to keep colon and repair it like new, I would never regret the decision I mad all those years ago.

Afterall, how many others can say when there is a foul smell wafting around, meaning someone has obviously broken wind (use your own descriptive words here, I'm trying to be polite), that it is most definately not me as it is now physically impossible. :) smiles smugly as husband blames the dogs again ;)

It took a few years as things were fine for first few months and then had problems with bags sticking and that's when I changed to the two piece convatec system and never looked back. When you get there it is a very smug feeling especially when everyone else is looking guilty or embarrassed in case it's them. Just one of those silly little benefits that makes me smile. :)
