I found that yogurt helped to ensure that things didn't shoot through, so I had one first thing in the morning and one just before bed. I ate cream of wheat and that seemed to stay pretty well too. Milk and a sandwich were a little faster, but not too much. Since I was pretty severely underweight and quite anemic when I had my initial surgery, I had to eat a lot before I got my ileostomy reversed. By the way, the bread I ate was plain old white bread. I tried buttermilk bread and boy, did that cause a lot of gas. I was too nervous while I had the ostomy to try wheat bread, which I much prefer to white.
