Hi I am RarelySeen and joined the site after reading some of the helpful suggestions, thank you, because of the nature or rareness of the tumor I had and the added ileostomy, I am finding it very hard to find answers and or support, I feel like an anomaly, anyway I need some assistance, I was diagnosed with a malignant solitary fibrous tumor (A malignant tumor not connected to any tissue or body part soft and spongy, basically bag of malignant gunk sitting in the body) on June 2011 it was 11 cm around and logged in my pelvis between my hips, it had pushed my bowel over to the side and when the surgeon was removing it, it burst on one side spilling cancer cells in my pelvis area, because of this I am currently have radiation treatment, she also damaged my bowel while removing the tumor and I have a ileostomy, I am having all sorts of problems with radiation burns under the base plate of the bag and around my stoma, I am very red and sore, I have had some success with squeezing the barrier whip fluid out and letting it dry, before applying a new base, this is working around the stoma but the burn is not getting better and hurts, does anyone have any suggestions ?
And my stoma was placed to close to my belly button and it is very hard to get a good seal, I have tried cutting the base, but as the swelling comes down on my tummy, the button gets ever closer to the stoma, ek ? Help..please
