Hi my 1st post ,my daughter is 16 and has pancolitis and is now considering surgery as she is really struggling to cope with school etc.maxed out on meds and has never been in remission since diagnosis
she also has chairi malformation and intracranial hypertension so has a lumbo-peritoneal shunt to drain the excess fluid from her brain which after a few probs seems to be working (although she still has terrible headaches her eyesight has been saved)
has anybody had an experience of surgery with a shunt ,and how it might affect it , we have been told neurosurgeon will have to be in theatre with the cr surgeon.
we are in the UK so dont get much say over who does the surgery
