oh this is a very big and emotional day for all of us. i've been hooked to the tv news ALL day! it's been very exciting and thrilling to actually see Gilad come home!!!! it is amazing and a miracle.... i'm still crying, been crying all day from happiness and excitement.

the deal is quite inconceivable (!) one soldier compared to almost 500 palestians terrorists! it is a situation of lots of mixed feelings of on one hand lots of happiness and excitment to have Gilad back at home with us, with his family after 5 years in captivity, but on the other hand, hearing the palestinians on the news say that they now need a few more Gilad Shalit's in order to have all their prisoners back. they don't want peace. they want us all dead.

today no one worked or functioned..... EVERYBODY were hooked to the tv news sheding tears of happiness to see Gilad back home. it is a great day for us. a very long and happy day!

I am very happy for Gilad and share your concerns.... but really, it doesn't help to say THEY want all of US dead.... some people want that, sure, and there are also some Israelis that are also quite bent on killing Palestinians.... but there are a lot of people on both sides who want peace and to just live their lives etc. I have friends in the US who do Israel/Palestine peace work, and there are definitely people on both sides who are talking and working together....

Did you know that there is a Palestinian Ostomates Association? I imagine sometimes what it's like for Palestinians with IBD who are stuck at check points or ostomates who can't get the care or supplies they need....

Obviously this is a very complicated and emotional issue, and not one that's good to go too far into here.....and you're in Israel and I'm in the US, so we live it differently..... but I do think that this board needs to be available to all people with ostomies, and I felt I needed to say something....

blueglass, you are TOTALLY right! and i apologize if i may have not expressed my self right. when i said they don't want peace, i was reffering to the terrorists only and not the whole palestinian ppl. we also want peace and for the killing to stop and i know there are on the other side who want the same. we are dreaming and praying for the day we can all live peacefully together, cuz that's really what we want! to just live our lives in peace. i'm sorry if i wasn't clear about that.

naturally, you can understand our concerns too... that those prisoners who were involved with so many killings are now out there..... and saying they need more like Gilad and their leaders saying they can't promise they won't kill again... how scary is that!!?? i don't believe those prisoners who belong to terrorists organizations do want peace. unfortunately, i do believe those terrorists aim is to kill again :(

so again, i need to stress the point that "they don't want peace" - is reffered to the religiously fanatic terrorists, not the whole palestinian ppl. i'm most happy to have Gilad back!!!! i'm scared of the concequences of this deal!!!! happy Simchat Torah!!

thanks Rosemary! we also pray for peace all the time. i see the dr friday and he'll give me the preventive treatment. can't wait to start school.........

oh yeah...... i wish so too!!! life could be so simple if we could only live w/o all this war and killing.... those fanatic terrorists, it's like the only way they know is violance. if it weren't for them, we'd all be able to live peacefully. they wont let the rest of us who want peace to have it. like when Sadat really wanted to make peace and met with Begin, when they saw he's serious about making peace, they just killed him. the arab leaders themselves are scared of the terror organizations.

Gilad is amazing.... even after so many yrs in captivity and isolation, he seems very inteligent and mind clear. he was just a kid when captured (19+) now he's 25. 1/5 of his life was in captivity. he also said he'd be glad if all the prisoners will be out, but just stop fighting us.

yes, blueglass. i agree it is complicated. and there are fanatics on our side too unfortunately... gosh... i just want to live in peace. i don't want war! i don't want anyone to be killed! anyone to be hurt! i'm sheding tears as i'm writing this, cuz this is a very, very sore subject....... i dream of the day we can all live in peace! i dream of the day we don't have to run conversations like this one any more ever!!

i am definitely aware of the palestinians ostomate's distress of lack of supplies, and i'm doing my best on my part as a moderator of the israeli ostomies forum to get as much supplies as possible and transffer it to Gaza. we try to get supplies from everywhere we can and send it to "Physicians For Human Rights - Israel", 9 Dror St., Jaffa-Tel Aviv 68135, Israel - they trasffere it to Gaza and give it to other refugees as well.

i know arabs who do want peace and they are wonderful ppl! my stoma nurse is an arab guy. he's amazing and i love him! again, life can be so simple W/O war!

thanks blueglass. i'm not sure i understood your question..? do you mean if it's possible to send this organization supplies from overseas? i don't know, maybe they have all kinds of contacts all over the world and they can send someone on their behalf to take the supplies from who ever wants to donate. so maybe it's worth calling them and asking if there's a way they can send someone to pick up supplies. i can call and ask that for you if you want, or you can call them your self any time: 011-972-3-5133100. either way let me know.

yes, unfortunately there are lots who suffer internal ingures due to bombing, terror attacks and have to have an emergency surgery and have a stoma made.

i know what you mean, but it could make sense even so, cuz maybe the ppl who work with them in different countries (assuming there are such), they can gather supplies of different donors for some time, like few mons or something and then, when they have a big quantity, all together send it. i honestly don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. the sabbath is almost in, but i will call sunday, just to ask if there's actually a way.
