Well I saw my current ileo surgeon today and asked if he could help Lizzie. He did say the functional (the working of her small intestine) has to be diagnosed as well as the mechanical (as in adhesions) and said that Mayo was the best place for that type of testing. I told her of the specific tests I had out there then brought back to Lahey for my take down of adhesions and the ileostomy. So he didn't say he wouldn't deal with her, but said that this testing needed to be done first. I communicated with her this on face book and hope she has the strength to get these tests. I told him how bad off she was. I did what I could and these were his responses.
If anyone has a doc who you think might be able to help her, email me at
[email protected] and I will forward the info to her. She needs all the help and contacts she can get. She is still at a standstill obstructing every other day and sleeping very little. Auugh!

.com a patient advocacy site run by Trisha Torey might be a way to get her some help. Some woman had what they think is an object left in her during a c-section and through this site the lady was able to get some help, still not a definitive but there were replies and some docs and radiologists are at least putting their heads together to see what they can come up with. Sort of a public "all call" for help. This may be what Lizzie needs. It would be so nice to have her case put out there and docs step forward to offer ideas for help.
