Hey everyone i just had the first step of my two part J-pouch procedure done two weeks ago and had a quick question. My surgeon managed to do the surgery laproscopically so i only had one small incision that was stapled shut and then four lap sites which were like small incisions around the larger ones. Two of these were stapled with one or two staples and two were just left. One of the two that were left is in a really awkward position underneath and to the right of my stoma and unfortunately when i put on the flange of my two part bag it goes over top of this incision. This incision is pretty much the only thing left giving me pain from the surgery, after two weeks i feel pretty good most of the time except that this incision continually bothers me. It is remaining open because of being positioned under the flange and leaking fluids, and these fluids then weaken the seal on the bottom of the flange. Ive taken to cutting the flange at the bottom and putting gauze over the wound but was just wondering if anyone else had gone through this and what the best thing for me to do is? I'm worried about the wound getting infected or not closing, also if the bag were ever to leak it would go right into the wound which would probably be very bad for it...
