Ugh. Lost 2,500 in liquid stool output for day shift. They are hooking up mega IV stuff now to make up for it.

Good morning, everyone! Stool cut back to 1,300 for the afternoon/evening shift and down to 600 overnight. Managed to sleep from 10:30-5:00 a.m. uninterrupted. It's now 8:00 a.m. and I haven't been to the bathroom since I got up at 5:00 so I think things are settling down a bit. They want to see how I do today to see if I will be ok without IV support before they let me go. I'm not in a hurry. I know how awful it feels to get so dehydrated, so I will wait until they feel like it is safe.

Finally passing some gas, too. It's not too bad. Lots of walking is helping. I have very little surgery site pain. It's being well controlled with Percocet.

It gets better each day. Sounds like you are on the right track. Don't be in a hurry to go home...I wish I would have been able to stay a little longer believe it or not!

I'm on tentative discharge for tomorrow. Food has gone well today and volumes have been good. Only issue is gas pain...OMG!!! It hurts, I'll tell you. All I can really do is walk, walk, walk and that helps things along. I imagine they will want to see my blood work tonight and stuff before they decide....but I should know in the morning.

I am home. :-). Got out yesterday afternoon. Guts have settled tremendously with just a couple days of actual food. I slept for six hours last night and only woke up then because I had to pee so bad! Haha! So far I am really happy with this choice. Thanks for checking on me. :-)

Hi, I am so glad you are doing great. It will only get better from here. My daughter is proof of that. Such great news.
