Women with J-Pouch

I have had a J-Pouch for 3 years, i am 26 years old.  My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 13 months now.  I am really starting to get worried but my surgeon says i shouldnt have anything to worry about.  Since my surgery i have not had a single problem and he says i am young enough it shouldnt have affected me.  We dont have insurance so we have to try to do this on our own. I have done lots of research to trying to conceive and tips but i am looking for advice from any woman who have had children post surgery!  I need a pick me up!  Thanks!

I do know that there is an increased risk of difficulty in conceiving with a jpouch and not with an ileostomy. I know this because my daughter's GI keeps mentioning this to me every time we raise the surgery issue. Having said that, it's far from impossible and she does concede that many women do have children with a jpouch but there's a greater risk of difficulties. I agree with Marianne I would post on jpouch.org . I know some jpouchers have to do IVF ?
