Poll: Convex Appliance or Flat Appliance?

Seems like there are so many of us on the board here who are using convex appliances.

I switched to convex and have had very good luck with avoiding leaks, even though a wound care nurse told me I did not need convexity.

Anyone getting along fine with a flat appliance and not having frequent leaks?

Thanks everyone for participating in my very first poll   I sorta expected 50/50 or maybe 60/40, but not such a majority using convex appliances.  

Rosemary, the reason I now use convexity is that I have a jelly-belly due to up-and-down weight over the years.  Convexity has helped tremendously as I was only getting 2-hours to 2-days with a flat appliance.   I use the Convatec moldable with an Eakin and now get 7-10 days wear.  I believe it is stomahesive, too.  Have you tried the Convatec moldable, or are you using a 1-piece appliance?

Rosemary, the moldable does not "squeeze" my stoma, but gently "hugs" it.  You have to make sure that the size of the moldable is not too small for the size of the stoma.

And, I do use the convex wafer without any problems. 

Here is a link which tells that the moldable is good for any size and shape of stoma.  It also talks about use with irregular stomas, which I take to mean oval, etc.
