So yesterday I had 2 tacos at like 1230, then some peaches and whipped cream, then about
330 I had some nachos and cheese and 3 pepsis! Then a coke later. So after I got home I had a really bad stomach ache that lasted until I went to sleep. I had the right amount of output, but yet I had myself convinced that I had another adhesion and had myself alll freaked out!
I am an offically paranoid crazy person!

Oy, 4 sodas would make me have a stomach ache - all that gas! I don't think you are paranoid at all - I think we all are hyper conscious of our bodies b/c of what we have been through!

BAD choices summerstorm! LOL! It was on the news yesterday about
how bad soda is for you. I have a diet soda, only a glass, practically every day at lunchtime. At least you know the reasons you feel lousy....LOLOLOL!

Oh I know how bad it is for me, and before I had this last surgery I almost never drank it! But for some reason I've gotten back into the habit, and its hard to kick, lol.

Summer I do not mean to be yelling at you and I am not saying anything you don't already know, but man do you like to eat a lot of crapola! We are not going to get into a new flare from that stuff but all that fried corn chip stuff plus soda is going to give you an ulcer, not just a bellyache. Besides that all we have no are just the poor small intestines that have to do all that work by themselves so let's be nice to them and not give them all that greasy kid's stuff.
It's not a question if you are parnoid to worry about
adhesions (especially if we read this forum every day we are all going to worry about
that) but a question of what you are going to eat to promote your health and well-being. That's not nachos and co.

Lol I know I eat horribly! I couldn't eat for soooo long with UC that I'm not really picky about
it now. I don't usually eat as badly as I did yesterday though. I'm anxiously awaiting my 6 weeks to be up so I can have some brocolli!

Yeah ok I can totally relate to celebrating with food but getting stomachache is really over the limit there.
I would never have imagined salad would be a celebration but I've had to give it up and easy back into eating salad again every time after three operations.
Granted, I am feeling particularly fed up today, if I sound snarky sorry.
I am too paranoid about
getting gas to eat broccoli. I haven't eaten broccoli since 2009!
Just start with one small piece!

No you didn't sound snarky (I love that word, btw).
I ate brocolli a lot before this adhesion surgery, I didn't get a lot of gas with it, as long as it was cooked and I just ate the top parts, not the stems. If I ate it raw, which I only did once cause I thought I would blow up with all that gas, or ate the stems cooked I had horrible stomachaches.
The only thing the soft part ever did was make a horrible horrible horrible smell! And it looks gross coming out. Salad doesn't stink but I don't like seeing the pieces of lettuce.

I got used to seeing whatever came out of my bag and maybe I even had a childish fascination with it, if I'm honest.
Strange thing I've noticed: over the 12 months with stoma and bag, my output never smelled like, um you know what, which is what is is. If I ate a banana, it smelled like banana, or grass if I ate lots of salad (which I ate lots of in the weeks before take-down) or slightly like curry, if I ate Indian food. It is only now that it is coming out of my bottom that it is starting to smell like what it truly is. I don't understand the difference, because I just assumed that what only goes through the small bowel will not be very stinky until it goes through the large bowel.
Anyway, I am not going to eat anything green until my jpouch starts to regulate itself (and behaving itself) so that will take months.

Summer, I get stomach aches from drinking soda. But I still will occasionally drink a coke. As far as eating healthy, well, that just hasn't worked out for me.
I do best with chips, nacho chips, chicken tenders, french fries, potatoes, rice, cereal, etc. Kids foods! When I ate a salad, I got terrible diarrhea and almost couldn't go to work because my bag filled so quickly with total liquid.
I can't eat bananas or sweet potatoes because it comes out in clumps and eventually tears my wafer off, even though I haven't tried either with convatec, which is the system I have settled on instead of Hollister.
It might not be the best diet, but it is what works for me and it actually seems to digest easily.
I exercise regularly and try to watch my weight which is obviously up since getting my ileo, but I look healthy and everybody comments how much better I look with a little extra weight.
Just my 2 cents worth.

you're definitely not crazy! it's kind of like a mild form of post-traumatic stress after what you recently went through with the surprise blockage and surgery. i can relate, and promise it will pass.

Summerstorm:
Stop with the soda if you CAN (lol) ....the sugar, caramel coloring, and caffeine is no good for you (or any of us)!
The last time I had a soda was a week before surgery....my stomach ached all night....
