I believe I posted about this once before, but just wondering if any new insights.
As most of you already know, I had a total colectomy with end ileostomy on June 28,2010. My surgeon is one of those (probably a rare one) who did not sew the anus closed. I have, what he referred to as, anal skin tags. I always thought they were external hemmies. Anyway, they are bothersome. I don't have pain, but it always feels like there is something hanging out my butt (which there is..lol). I phoned his office several months ago and his assistant told me to use the Calmoseptine on them as the moisture is what, most likely, is causing the irritation.
I read some past posts on the Crohn's and UC forum where people have had them removed and suffered some complications. Maybe that is why he left well enough alone. Anyone know anything about these annoyances? Should I go ahead and ask to have them removed? There is no bleeding and they are not getting larger.....just a feeling like something is there which shouldn't be there.
Thank you!
