Bill had his reversal done yesterday. He came to slightly after the surgery and then pulled the first ng tube out of his gut right in the operating room. They got another one in and he stayed awake most of the night because he was afraid he would pull it out again. The first five hours I was there today he slept. He tried to get up and walk around 2:00 but was in too much pain to do more than stand up and walk a few steps. Later at 5:00 he did manage to walk down the hall and back. No sounds from his digestive tract yet and ng tube is pulling ileos fluid up out of his stomach. The doctor said it could be 5-10 days before he can come home: has to be able to eat and have a normal bowel movement first.
I have a lot of ostomy supplies if anyone is interested in them. Several unopened tubes of stomahesive paste, 1=1/4" opening skin wafers, bags with the velcro closures (non-vented), coloplast skin barrier, powder, etc.
