Subzero, I remember you having high acid problems all along, it's amazing how they follow every step of the way. It#s defiitely relief to know that it's "only" acidic content. I tried taking questran but it was fouling up the immodium effect if I didn't time everything very carefully. I stopped taking the questran and am not bothered much by high-acid anymore, I keep things well bound up with psyllium.
The itch that people assume is caused by acid and they calm it down with calmoseptine - is often not caused by acid, but by the tensing or spasmodic behavior of one of the pelvic muscles with a very long, old-Greek name. I went to therapy once with an awful itche and my therapist massaged it vaginally for a while and the itch went away. Not that it didn't hurt like hell during the massage.
