New Doc is AMAZING!!!!!!

Hi all!!
I finally got to my new gastro, and he is an angel in the truest sense!!!
He spent 45 minutes with me, going over my surgery and what led up to it, and everything going on since.. He asked me why I came to him when there are clearly gastro's closer to me...and I had seen one that was reputed to be one of the absolute best in his field.... So, I told him because 1~ the one in my hometown is an ego-maniac who doesn't listen, and 2~ the so called specialist didn't listen to me, he always kept telling me, "we'll wait and see what happens", and quite honestly I don't think I would have 1/2 the trouble I did if he would have sent me to the surgeon sooner. (Quick re-cap: I had NO bowel movements from beginning of Sept. last year, until after Thanksgiving. I was taking 13 doses of miralax, 4 amitiza pills, 6 doses of lactulose DAILY, and he was STILL telling me, "let's wait and see"..then he added 2 colon preps and 2 enimas a week. When I finally went to another surgeon, he had to remove all but 6 inches of the large intestine, 2 feet of the small one..all due to constipation to severe, it killed the large intestine.)
So, anyway, this new gastro is the type of doctor everyone dreams of getting. After our 45 minute conversation, he says, "Ok, this is what I am going to do, I have these questions..(and listed them off as he was typing them on the computer), then says, "I am going to look over what was sent to us by the other doctor's, and I am going to call you in 2 weeks to see how the new medicine is working. If you have any questions you can call us anytime, and if there are any problems, call immediately. In the mean time, I am going to look for this information in your file.. You have had to travel enough for all of this ( my docs and the hospital that the surgery was done in is a 4 hour drive for me), so if I don't have to see you, we will talk over the phone. I am not going to make you drive here ( 1 1/2 hours away), for me to tell you test results or anything stupid like that. We can talk on the phone. But I am going to call you in 2 weeks to see how things are going. ok?"
I was so floored by his whole demeaner, I forgot to ask him a bunch of questions! hahahaha,
But, I have really appreciated everyone's help and advice, and to let you know, hang in there, there are doctors who listen and care! Have a great day all :)

That is what a Dr. should say!! Glad you are getting some good help finally.

This is Dr. Fedi at Gatroenterologists group in Plattsburgh, NY...quick update, I have to go back to a surgeon because I am having so much pain that he wants to make sure I do not have too much scar tissue build up..and to check on when they are going to fix the hernia...and on top of that I have a goiter on my thyroid (which is a whole other nightmare for me, apparently they run rampant in our family, and 2 women died from them because instead of growing out of the neck, they grew in and strangled them...which is what mine is doing..) :( But my stomach is finally coming around :) Thanks to all of you for the support and help...
