Need help with choosing correct ostomy bag

hi everybody

I am from india and this is my first post in the forum.

My mother has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and went thru surgery 6years ago.

She was using coloplast bag model 5900 since then.

But recently we came to know that this model was discounted and we were advised to go with coloplast bag model 13860.

But my mother experience with these new bags was very bad. She told me that these new bags are getting damaged very early like she is changing for every 12-14hrs.
With old model she used to get it for 2-3days.

Please suggest any suitable bag model in new series of coloplast products which can hold for longer time like earlier model.

I would contact Coloplast and let them know the bags are not holding up. They may be defective. Do you go through a supplier? Your supplier should be able to help you pick a different bag. You should also be able to get some free samples.

     I use the Coloplast Sensura bags with the built in filter.   I started with the Hollister brand but I had two break on me and I couldn't have that!  So far, so good with these Coloplast.

Yes we get them thru a supplier here in delhi.

When I mentioned this problem with them they advised to go with other model which i mentioned earlier.

As per my experience, they seem to be don't have much awareness on these products.

And I don't think we will get any free samples here in india.

Like Christine my husband has very good success with the Coloplast Sensura set up. Hopefully you can order that one for her to try out. I hope this works well for her.

You can call Coloplast directly and talk to a specialist there and ask for some free samples.
