My guy just had a successful reversal 11 days ago. Everything went very well with no complications. He is eating a low residual diet and has resumed normal bowel habits already.
I am posting because when he had the ostomy, he had some real frustration at times with soreness, red, weeping skin around the stoma and trouble getting the bag to stick- sometimes he went through several bags, used extra adhesive strips. One night a week before the reversal, he was up all night because nothing worked and he couldn’t get a bag to stay on- very frightening to him. He finally remembered a powder he had received months before from Hollister called Karaya. Reading the label, he discovered it was for exactly this problem. Not only did it make the bag stick really well, it promoted healing of the skin and worked like magic. I wanted to pass this on to others who might have this problem.
God bless and good luck.
