Last week I had my first follow-up with my GI since surgery, with a scope of esophagus, stomach and small intestine [through my stoma.]
She took some biopsies as there was a question about possible Barrett's Esophagus because I had a couple irritated places in my esophagus and in my stomach [ruling out Crohn's.] She even biopsied a couple places in my small intestine, even though she saw nothing suspect.
I got my results today and I am sooooo happy. No Barrett's, and most importantly, NO signs of active Crohn's.
Unknown and uncontrolled reflux caused the irritation, so I am on a PPI. She pretty much cut me loose and only needs to see me on an as needed basis.
21 months out and counting my blessings and clinging to the hope that I am in the 80% who will not have a recurrence
