Haven't been here in a long time

I am nearing the 3 year mark of my Urostomy surgery.  I came here early on, but at the time, didn't seem to be many here with Urostomy specific experience.  Wondering if any other members have joined since, that I might be able to ask some specific questions.

Like most with an Ostomy, have gotten use to the entire thing, has become pretty routine in my life now.  Most of my devices last easily 7-10 days.  I do have the rare "blow out", but been fortunate that all but one of them have been at home.  Still mostly will only wear black pants out in public, out of fear of device failure.  I think people are so sick of seeing me in black pants, lol.

Hope the rest of you here are doing well, or as well as can be expected.  Will check back in again sometime.

Sometimes I get brave, and wear light colored pants, but not often. Only had one blow out in public, right in the middle of checking out at Wal Mart. I was wearing shorts, something I almost never do away from home. And of course, some innocent little girl waiting with her mother, pointed to my wet shorts and the urine on the floor. I could have died of utter shame, but had to finish my purchase. I keep extra towels in my car, just in case of something like that happening.
