Hello all,
Quick question for anyone able to answer. I had my jpouch construction 4 weeks ago and seemed to be healing really well but have noticed that I experience discomfort in my lower abdomen when ever I caugh, laugh or pee. I am just wondering if anyone else experienced this or if it could be a possible infection of some kind?

Normal. Healing incision. For coughing and laughing I recommend "bracing" against the area with a pillow or just your hand. I remember the peeing issue -- it almost felt like my bladder was pulling on the inside of the incision when I went. It dissipated over time.

I'm having this too. It's going away. It scared me at first, but so did everything else.

Hi there, I had a total colectomy about 4 years ago, and for the first several weeks I had a lot of bladder discomfort, very similar to what you describe.
It does go away! Do your best to relax completely when you go.

I also had the bladder problem. Even went to the doctor because I thought I was getting a bladder infection. Drink plenty of water and take the time to empty out. It did get better with time.

i had surgery to remove my rectal stump 3 weeks ago and have these same issues. caughing/sneezing - i support the area that hearts with my hands. as for peeing, musicmaker recommened me of a tool to pee standing up so it won't burn my butt wound, but i found it is also helping with peeing, cuz i feel it is easier to pee standing up. sitting down makes it uncomfortable, painful to pee and it takes forever for the pee to come out. standing up the pee comes out much easier and much less painful, at least for me. here's the link:
