burning sensation

anyone get burning sensation under wafer on skin around stoma? is it paste I'm using or is it liquid poop getint on skin?

If it burns when you first put the bag on, it's probably paste.

If it's burning after a couple days wear, it's probably some liquidy output on the skin.

whatever it is, you should change to something different in order to prevent any kind of skin problems.

A small area directly under the stoma is always compromised. Sometimes it burns/itches, then I know I have to change my appliance. When I change my appliance, the sure-prep wipes burn, as well as the paste I use to fill in the dips off the side. I also use Eakin seals, which does not burn. But after several minutes the sensation subsides.

If a barrier film is applied to the skin around the stoma, that skin should be protected from other stuff that might come in contact with it. The makers of Cavilon no sting barrier wipes say it's OK to use on damaged skin. Works great for me.

changed wafer last night looked like i had leakage just bellow stoma sate must of worn a bit put on new one burned ayr 1st for min always does but no leakage use extra paste we will c how it goes
