Curious about constipation

Hi all!! It has been a while since I have been here, but I do have a question.
I had a total colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis, and STILL have constipation trouble (2 years post op). Does anyone else have these issues??
Thankfully I got an appointment with my original surgeon ( who was deployed 3 months after my surgery)..all other doctors I have seen for this constipation tell me it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to be constipated with no colon. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you think I would know if I had gone to the bathroom??????????
AND, if chronic constipatiion was what caused me to have to have the surgery to begin with ( and I didn't know I had it), and that is what caused my toxic mega colon... than doesn't it stand to reason that if now I KNOW I am having these issues, that it is possible the small intestine is now stretching out in areas and possibly causing problems? does that make sense??? thanks

Lots of pain and nausea...and little to no appetite most of the time.
Part of my bigger concern, is that in November I had a LARGE (almost a foot total length) hernia repaired, and a week later I took a pretty bad fall. I went back to the surgeon who repaired the hernia, and he said (only form exam, no tests) that I did not rip repair back open. But I can feel something that is not right.. and after these past 2 years and what I have gone thru with our ridiculous emergency room, I am not eager to back there to try and get some answers.
I have, LITERALLY had 43 c.t. scans in 2 years. and that is not counting the ones I had to have done prior to that.. I am afraid I am one e.r. visit away from glowing!!! I even had one physician (and I use THAT term loosely) told me I WOULD get leukemia, he GUARANTEED it.. and then he did another one anyway! uugghhhh... so while I KNOW something is amiss, I am not going back their unless I am dying!

First off, you know your own body and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It angers me when I hear words like 'impossible'. I snicker back 'oh, I thought anything's possible in medicine?'

I have been told by my surgeon and others that it is rare to be constipated, but it does happen. They hope that with the diseased colon out that it will solve the problem, but in some cases if you were constipated before, you might be after. I, too, had couple doctors tell me 'never', and one went so far as to say maybe I'd been misdiagnosed. I am not reversed, but this was discussed with many because it is an option and thus constipation a concern if I do. What I take in all this is, that internists have selective knowledge. Many have said so themselves. CR Surgeons see these cases. And with them, it is based on experience and personal cases. They usually "see it all", but even then they might not.

Several cases I've read they still have to be on a fiber supplement and Miralax regime. They were hoping not to post-op, but it just is. This is of course being cleared that there is nothing residual from surgery. I suggest you start doing this and tweak as you go along.

I understand your angst on CT's, I'm very vocal about it's necessity. I've gotten into heated arguments with most doctors. about 2/3 of the ones I've received were unnecessary. That was before my colectomy and during surgery which went array. It is a huge problem within the medical community. Don't let this get in the way of seeking medical services. Instead, educate yourself and banter with them and don't be afraid to deny it. It MUST be warranted, not frivolously issued. CT's have been on the rise compared to prior decades. Again, angering me because I know that if it were them, they wouldn't do this to themselves. They know better, as should we. What is even more detrimental is the timeframe, too much radiation if you have one following another. I believe I overheard 3/6 months. And I shake my head as to your number/timeframe.
