Healing time of open wound

If I recall correctly, when I got my temporary ileo reconnected, it took the ileo wound about two weeks to seal up. My surgeon purposely didn't suture it completely to allow drainage and reduce the risk of infection.

I recall some minimal amount of bleeding and, yes, it was around the edges. The main leakage was the "crud" (technical term) that my surgeon wanted to ensure came out instead of remaining inside and likely causing an infection.
